  • Winns Baptist Church 12520 Rocky Ridge Road Glen Allen, VA, 23059 United States (map)

Friend of Israel – We want to invite you to join us for Central Virginia’s Christian observance of the Feast of Tabernacles!

Gather with us at Winns Baptist Church Pavillion and Children’s Playground beginning at 2pm. *Drinks and light refreshments will be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring a covered dish for the fellowship meal which will begin at 4:30pm. *Please no pork or shellfish.

Afternoon activities include kids' arts and crafts time, special demonstrations on biblical foods, challah bread, and the shofar. A festive sukkah will be set up on site as well! (A sukkah is a temporary shelter set up to commemorate the time God provided for the Israelites in the wilderness after they were freed from slavery in Egypt. Leviticus 23:33-44)

The Feast of Tabernacles, Sukkot, is the original "fall festival" and is a joyful time of food, fellowship, and praise to God for His great faithfulness! Celebrated at harvest time, Sukkot is one of the seven biblical feasts of Israel. This special time of gathering is not just for the Jewish people but for the nations as well! During this feast, the nations celebrate in the Messianic Kingdom to come. Sukkot is one of the "pilgrim feasts" that required all who were able to gather in Jerusalem. In recent years, many nations have traveled to Jerusalem during this season for this very purpose. While we cannot make the journey to Jerusalem this year, we can come together locally to commemorate this time – celebrating the Feast of Tabernacles right here in Central Virginia – as others celebrate in Jerusalem.

We hope you will join us for this festive gathering!

Chag Sameach or Happy Festival,
